Well, we knew it was coming...
Without too much preamble, I kind of want to get straight into the reason I am making this post. I have been working hard on this site for nearly a month now, WOOO! But, a glaring issue has hit me just now and I want to address it..
Site Limitations
Yeahh, it's finally hit. I just sorted the issue with background music andddd Supporter only feature... Dont get me wrong, I know neocities gotta make their money, but I dont see it as worthwhile to pay for something I do as a hobby like this. Currently, I have two choices. 1)I stay on neocities and accept there are some things I cannot do/improve on my site so long as I am not paying for it, or 2)I accept I have outgrown neocities, and port my site elsewhere with a bit more capabilities. I haven't looked into the second option yet, but i will see what I find. I really don't know what I am going to do, this isn't so much of an announcement as it is a slight rant if I'm honest.
So What Does This Mean?
So far? Literally nothing. I will still be working on the site and be hosted on neocities, utilising zonelets. But that is not to say this is forever. The longevity of this site, in terms of features and progression in my HTML knowledge (which has always been the main goal) is definitely at risk on here, in the long term. I do think this is.. announcing an eventual move. I dont know how close that is, but we will see. I am quite let down and bummed about this to be honest, I really like the neocities interface but I also enjoy progression. It's a bit of a difficult one, but as always I will keep you updated!
Side Note
I only just learnt you can see how many views your site has received, and I am blown away! Like, 400 or something crazy! Thank you all so much. This really isn't a numbers game for me, but it felt wrong to not atleast acknowledge the support you are giving me, I really appreciate it. Thank you for being here with me in this vast cyberspace.
